Compliance and Quality Assurance

The Compliance and Quality Assurance Division is responsible for the development of quality policies and standards that govern all operations and processes of the Council. The functions include internal audit, quality assurance and security coordination.

The Compliance and Quality Assurance Division of the Botswana Examinations Council is responsible for the development of quality policies and standards that will govern all operations and processes of the Council. The Division will establish sound and effective corporate governance controls by monitoring the implementation of the Board’s policies and plans, Checking and assuring adherence to process and product standards, service standards and contracts,  ensuring strict compliance with the applicable laws of Botswana (such as the BEC Act) that govern the Council’s operations, relevant government directives, and other policy documents; and to ensure that there is a quality management system in place that is adhered to at all times.

Botswana Examinations Council values its stakeholders and aims to hold a positive position in their minds. The Compliance and Quality Assurance (CQA) division receives customer complaints and ensures that they are handled to the customers satisfaction and to uphold a good image for the organization. Enquiries about anything at BEC are also routed through the CQA division as they will be able to make sure the required information is taken from the relevant and correct person.

Through the use of a survey and the website, feedback can be given to BEC by all stakeholders and it will be made use of by the CQA division to better inform the implementation process of a quality management system at BEC where customer satisfaction is the main aim. Issues of non-compliance to processes, procedures, legal and customer requirements are handled through the CQA division and this can be achieved through:

·         Whistle Blowing

·         Reporting Fraudulent Activities

·         As well as reporting suspected malpractice

 

BEC QUALITY POLICY

The Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has adopted the ISO 9001:2015 as a basis for its Quality Management System. The BEC Quality Policy seeks to ensure that this international standard is effectively implemented as planned.
