Setswana literature texts for the 2020 BGCSE Examination
NEW SUBMISSION AND MODERATION DATES: 2020 HOME ECONOMICS 21/3 & MUSIC 34/4
The Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has in response to the Greater Gaborone Zone COVID-19 lockdown revised the coursework submission dates for Home Economics 21/3 and Music 34/4 projects. The submission dates for these components fell within the period of the lockdown that is, 31 July to 13 August 2020. The moderation schedule for Home Economics 21/3 has also since been revised in line with the revised submission date. Please note that all other timetabled syllabus components for JCE remain unchanged as per the examinations timetable dated 25 May 2020.

COVID-19 UPDATES: CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL MAY/JUNE 2020 EXAM SERIES
As you have already been informed, the May/June 2020 Cambridge International Examinations for all qualifications have been cancelled due to Covid-19. BEC kindly reminds candidates who have not yet responded to the request to submit a letter to either withdraw or defer the examination registration to do so before 30 April 2020 by contacting the External Examination Office at BEC at the e-mail indicated below. CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL EXAMINATIONS (CIE) CANCELS THE MAY/JUNE 2020 EXAMINATIONS
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) has resolved to cancel its May/June 2020 Examinations. The decision according to CIE is taken to protect the safety and wellbeing of students and teachers.
2020 PSLE, JCE and BGCSE PRIVATE CANDIDATES REGISTRATION FOR THE EXAMINATIONS NOW ON
Private candidates are informed that Registration for Private Candidates will start on 17 February 2020 until 03 April 2020 for JCE and 02 March to 30 April 2020 (For BGCSE and GCE O’ Level) Examinations . The information regarding Registration can be accessed through Malepa, the BEC website at www.bec.co.bw, BEC Facebook page (Botswana Examinations Council) and Twitter Page (@Bots_Exams). PLSE registration will run from 03 February 2020 until 13 March 2020.

PRESS RELEASE - 2019 BOTSWANA GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (BGCSE) RESULTS RELEASED
Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2019 Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) examination results. A total of 36 508 candidates wrote the 2019 examination showing an increase of 12.4% in candidature compared to the 2018 cohort of 32 470. There were 14 670 (40.18%) male candidates and 21 838 (59.82%) female candidates.
PRESS RELEASE - 2019 JUNIOR CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (JCE) RESULTS RELEASED
Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2019 Junior Certificate Examination (JCE) Results. A total of 41 048 candidates sat for the examination and were awarded grades in the 2019 examination showing a slight decrease in candidature compared to 41 062 candidates in 2018.
