PRESS RELEASE - 2015 BOTSWANA GENERAL CERTIFICATE FOR SECONDARY EDUCATION (BGCSE) RESULTS RELEASED
Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2015 Botswana General Certificate for Secondary Education (BGCSE) results. A total of 38 796 candidates wrote the 2015 examination showing an increase in candidature of 3.8% compared to 2014 cohort of 37 384. There were 16 483 (42.5%) male candidates and 22 313 (57.5%) female candidates sitting for the 2015 BGCSE Examination.

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2015 Junior Certificate Examination (JCE) results. A total of 41 938 candidates wrote the 2015 examination showing an increase in candidature of 3.4% from the 2014 candidature of 40 559. There were 20 621 male candidates and 21 317 female candidates sitting for the 2015 Junior Certificate Examination.
PRESS RELEASE - 2015 PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAVING EXAMINATION (PSLE) RESULTS RELEASED
Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2015 Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) results. A total of 42 553 candidates wrote the 2015 examination showing a decrease from the 2014 candidature of 42 797. Of the 42 553 students, 21 299 (50.05%) were females and 21 254 (49.95%) were males.

It is with great sorrow to learn about the demise of the Matsha Senior Secondary School Form 5 Students, who were travelling from school to their respective homes after completing their BGCSE Examinations on Friday 13 th November, 2015.
ATTENTION 2015 BGCSE BOCODOL LETLHAKANE CANDIDATES (BW 916)

All private candidates registered to sit the Cambridge International Examinations October/ November 2015, Secondary Checkpoint, IGCSE, GCE. O’’Level and AS/A level with the Botswana Examinations Council are informed that all their examinations will be held at Livingstone Kolobeng College (LKC), in Block 8
2015 BGCSE PRIVATE CANDIDATES
All private candidates who have registered to sit for 2015 BGCSE examinations in Gaborone are advised to collect their final Statement of Entry at Botswana Examinations Council premises from the 13th to the 25th September 2015.

The table below shows the location of 2015 BGCSE examination centres. It is candidates’ responsibility to establish the physical location of their centres well in time before the examinations start.
PUBLIC NOTICE - 2014 BGCSE CERTIFICATES DESPATCH
The Botswana Examinations Council wishes to inform the public that the 2014 BGCSE Certificates are out on despatch. All school candidates (Government and Private) are therefore requested to contact their Schools/Centres to collect the certificates as soon as possible. The certificates will be kept in the schools for a period of 24 months, before they are returned to Botswana Examinations Council.
Extended Registration for the October/November 2015 for JCE and BGCSE
Private candidates are informed that late registration for the 2015 examination series will commence on 6th to 10th July 2015. Please note that this is late registration and it will entail a late registration fee on top of what the candidate would normally pay.

CLOSING DATE ON UK INVIGILATORS VACANCIES (CIE, ABE and UL)
The Mmegi of Friday 20th March 2015, Vol 32 - No 44 carried an Advert advertising the Temporary Posts of Invigilators (CIE, ABE and UL). We erroneously put the advert with a wrong closing date. The advert states the closing date for applications as 27th March 2015. We wish to clarify that the correct closing date for applications for the above posts is 31st March 2015 not 27th March 2015. We regret any inconvenience that might have been caused by this error.

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2014 Botswana General Certificate for Secondary Education (BGCSE) results. A total of 37 384 candidates wrote the 2014 examination showing an increase in candidature of 9.73% compared to 2013 cohort of 34 069. There were 15 754 (42.14%) male candidates and 21 630 (57.86%) female candidates sitting for the 2014 BGCSE Examination.

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2014 Junior Certificate Examination (JCE) results. A total of 40 559 candidates wrote the 2014 examination showing an increase in candidature of 4.2% from the 2013 candidature of 38 944. There were 19 963 male candidates and 20 596 female candidates sitting for the 2014 Junior Certificate Examination.

Executive Secretary Hosts The Media
The Executive Secretary, Prof. Brian Mokopakgosi on Wednesday 19th November hosted members of the local press to media briefing. The core objective of this media briefing was to bridge the gap between BEC and stakeholders including the media, by giving the media updates on the 2014 examinations life cycle.
