Registration Procedure
- Forms are collected from Botswana Examinations Council or sent to individual candidates by University of London
- Candidates complete two forms; one is sent to University of London and Botswana Examinations Council keeps the other copy.
- Candidates pay examination fees directly to University of London
- Candidates pay an administration fee to be determined from time to time by BEC
Once registered
- Statements of entry are sent or candidates are asked to collect them
- Candidates pay an invigilation fee to be determined from time to time by BEC
- Candidates sit for examinations at BEC premises or other BEC approved centres
- Statement of results received from University of London and forwarded to candidates
- Candidates correct errors if there are any and BEC notifies University of London

• Candidates register and pay examination and administration fees with BEC
• BEC sends candidate registration details to Edexcel
Once registered:
• Edexcel sends statements of entries to BEC
• Statements of entry are sent or candidates are asked to collect them
• Candidates pay an invigilation fee to be determined from time to time by BEC
• Candidates sit for examinations at BEC premises or other BEC approved centres
• Statement of results received from Edexcel and forwarded to candidates
• Candidates correct errors if there are any and BEC notifies Edexcel

• Scripts are packaged and sent to UK by courier every week
• Statement of results received from CIE and forwarded to candidates
• Candidates correct errors if there are any and BEC notifies CIE

• TOEFL- Test of English as a Foreign Language

• TSE- Test of Spoken English
Registration Procedure
Registration could be on paper or online and it is easier online.
Payment for online registration is by credit card or bank draft for paper one.

Sitting Dates
• Usually on Saturdays except the March TOEFL which is on a Friday.
• Tests dates are sent to centres or accessed online. Some dates are closed to international sites.
Note:
• Botswana Examinations Council is currently doing the paper based TOEFL but hopes to switch to Internet based.
• TOEFL is both listening and written components.
• BEC offers both Standard and Non Standard testing (for candidates with disability)
Local Aptitudes Tests Are offered to candidates from:
- University of Botswana - Mature Entry Students
- Technical Colleges
- Botswana Institute of Commerce and Administration (BIAC)
Other Examinations
• Sometimes foreign universities request Botswana Examinations Council to supervise examinations on their behalf.
• In this case the candidates pay an administration fee. and invigilation fee to be determined by BEC from time to time.
