COUNCIL CLOSURE DURING DECEMBER HOLIDAYS

The Management of Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) wishes to inform its stakeholders, learners and the public at large that the Council will close for three and a half days between Christmas and New Year. That is from 24 th December (1300hrs) to 31 st December 2014. BEC will re open on the 5th January 2015. BEC Wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.

PRESS RELEASE- 2013 BOTSWANA GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF SECONDARY EDUCATION (BGCSE) RESULTS RELEASED

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2013 Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) examination results. A total number of 34 069 candidates sat for the examinations compared to 31 665 in 2012. Out of the 34 069 candidates who sat for the 2013 examinations, 24 494 were from Government and Government-Aided schools compared to 23 158 in 2012. Private schools presented 2 421 candidates compared to 3 116 in 2012. There were 7 154 private candidates (out of which 4 055 were registered through the Back-to School initiative) compared to 5 391 in 2012.

2013 JUNIOR CERTIFICATE EXAMINATION (JCE) RESULTS RELEASED

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2013 Junior Certificate Examination (JCE) results. A total of 38,944 candidates compared to 38,497 in 2012 wrote the 2013 examination showing an increase of 1.2%. Out of the 38,944 candidates there were 19,490 male candidates and 19,454 female candidates.

PRESS RELEASE - 2013 PRIMARY SCHOOL LEAVING EXAMINATION (PSLE) RESULTS RELEASED

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2013 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results. A total of 43 788 candidates wrote the 2013 examination showing an increase of about 0.5% from the 2012 candidature. Overall performance shows that the proportion of candidates obtaining grade C or better is 67.58% compared to 65.0% in 2012 representing an increase of 2.58%.

2012 BGCSE Results Released

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) wishes to announce the release of the 2012 Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE) results. A total number of 31,665 candidates sat for the examinations compared to 28,702 in 2011. Out of the 31,665 candidates who sat for the 2012 examinations, 23,158 were from Government and Government-Aided schools compared to 21,240 in 2011. Private schools presented 3,116 candidates compared to 1,868 in 2011. There were 5,391 private candidates compared to 5,594 in 2011.

2012 JCE Results Released

Botswana Examinations Council (BEC) has released the 2012 Junior Certificate Examinations (JCE) results. A total of 38385 compared with last year’s total candidature of 39374 wrote the examination. Out of the 38385 candidates, there were 19312 male candidates and 19073 female candidates.

2012 PSLE Results Released

As we announced last week that the 2012 PSLE Examinations Results would be released today, the 17th of December 2012, Botswana Examinations Council is now happy to announce the results. A total of 43687 candidates wrote the 2012 examination showing an increase of about 3% from the 2011 candidature.
